We come from business. Not from IT. That’s is the difference.
Why We Built Hyplon
We built Hyplon because businesses are either deploying AI fast or using it - without stopping to ask what is actually happening, how it affects their customers, their data, or their employees.
Not because they don't care. Because it is not really talked about and nobody has told them what to consider or look for.
So we built something different.
How We Work
The principles that drive everything we do.
Not a list of aspirations. This is how we actually behave with every client.
Integrity over comfort
We aim to be honest even when it is not what a client wants to hear. We will never downplay or ignore risk and privacy obligations to give a business a false sense of security.
Upstream thinking
We would rather prevent the problem than profit from the damage. Our measure of success is clients who never need to call a lawyer because of an AI failure.
Slow down to go further
We refuse to be rushed into bad advice. We take the time to understand a business properly before we recommend anything.
People over technology
AI is the tool, not the objective. We never lose sight of the humans: employees, customers, vulnerable users who are affected by the decisions businesses make about technology.
Plain language always
If a business leader cannot understand what we are saying, we have failed. Complexity is not expertise, it is how knowledge is translated and executed that makes the difference.
Independence without compromise
We are not selling a platform, a tool, or a framework with a licence fee attached. Our only interest is the right outcome for the client.
The Team
Two founders. Decades of real experience.
Meet Roger McCluskey - Co Founder
GradCert in Cyber Security, GradCert in IT, and Degree in Biotechnology
Roger started as an oil & gas project engineer in Malaysia and Singapore before pivoting into information security, bringing an engineer's mindset to risk. That combination of operational depth and security expertise is rare and it's what makes him effective across complex environments.
Since moving into security and privacy, Roger has assessed risks on a variety of technologies including airport passenger vetting systems, telco services and AI-powered customer support platforms, and has supported a global travel organisation with delivering whole-of-organisation security and privacy uplift programmes. He also lectures and mentors aspiring cybersecurity professionals through Cyber Rookie.
Outside of work Roger is deep into vibecoding, building tools that shield sensitive information before it enters AI systems and protect against prompt injection attacks. When he’s not doing that you’ll find him indulging his passion for history and his stategic mind through video games.
"Treat AI like an employee. You wouldn't give a new employee access to everything on day one. So why do it with AI? And always have a recovery plan."
— Roger McCluskey, speaking at The Business Show Australia, Sydney 2025.
Speaking & Technical Thought Leadership
Roger speaks at business events on AI and digital transformation sharing practical insights on what businesses should actually be doing with AI rather than what they think they should be doing.
Through Cyber Rookie he mentors aspiring cybersecurity professionals and makes technical concepts accessible to those entering the industry.
